Atlas International is a division of Atlas Castings & Technology. Atlas International specializes in the design and procurement of sand castings, investment castings and forgings from offshore suppliers. Atlas International uses sources in China, India and Korea to obtain the best casting value for high production commercial castings. In addition to providing casting design input, pattern construction supervision, and first article inspection, Atlas International acts as the agent of record for imported castings. Typical markets served include castings for: lift trucks, rock crushers, railroad, sow molds, well drive shoes, pumps, and valves.
Atlas International eliminates the uncertainties of buying foreign-produced products. By taking advantage of low labor, material, and overhead costs, costs can be reduced and pricing kept competitive.
Importing product from offshore makes sense generally when production runs require a consistent stream of cast or wrought parts in finished or semi-finished form. When adequate lead times are not available, inventorying agreements are desirable. Inventories can be maintained at Atlas International's warehouse and distributed directly to the customers requested destination.
